Matthew Vincent Taylor is an interdisciplinary creator, performer, and collaborator based in New York City. Born and raised in Nashville, TN, Matthew began his career working as a studio session singer for children's musicals and occasionally for artists like Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton, and more. After being offered over a quarter of a million dollars in college scholarships, he attended NYU:Tisch School of the Arts to study dance. While at NYU, Matthew had the honor of performing on legendary NYC stages like Carnegie Hall, performing two self-choreographed solos for the 9th AGBU Performing Arts Gala, New York City Center, as a ensemble member/swing for Crystal Pite's "Polaris", and Radio City Music Hall, as a choir member backing up Jared Leto for the Grammy Musicares Gala. He received his BFA from NYU in May 2018, and was signed by Bloc Talent NYC. Since signing on with Bloc, Matthew has worked on a plethora of projects from The Jonas Brothers music video “Only Human” to “Beauty and The Beast” at Papermill Playhouse. Matthew has also dived into The Upright Citizen’s Brigade community to study comedy. Upon completion of the curriculum and his internship, he was accepted into the advanced sketch writing program and continues to pursue opportunities with comedic intonation. Matthew hopes to use his interdisciplinary skill set to create, perform, and collaborate while navigating the industry at large.
